Travelling by campervan can be cozy and convenient but it can also come with some challenges – especially if you’re trying to camp for free or the weather is proving to be more rain than sunshine. One solution for a needed shower or a rainy day is to hunt down some hot springs with your campervan rental – so we have compiled a list of several that we’ve either been to or are dreaming of visiting soon on one of our own campervan road trips.
Banff Hot Springs

- 1.5 hr drive from Calgary
Radium Hot Springs

- Located in Kootenay National Park
- Developed pools
- Accessible year around
- 3hr drive from Calgary
Miette Hot Springs
- Located in Jasper National Park
- 5.75 hr drive from Calgary – 3.5 hr drive from Edmonton
- Accessible from May-Oct
- Developed pools
- Camping spots nearby to park for a night in your campervan rental and a gorgeous hike (Sulphur Skyline) up above the pools if you would like to get a workout before your soak!
Lussier Hot Springs

- Located in Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park
- Natural pools along the Lussier River
- 4hr drive from Calgary
- Campsites nearby to stay for a night or two
- You will travel on a logging road to get there – take care when driving as logging trucks will be on this road at times. In the winter snow tires/4WD could be necessary/helpful.
Halcyon Hot Springs

- Located between Revelstoke and Nakusp – 5.5 hrs from Calgary
- Developed pools
- Accessible year around
Nakusp Hot Springs

- 6.25 hr drive from Calgary
- Located near Nakusp
- Developed pools
- Accessible year around
- Can stay at the campsite here in your campervan
Halfway Hot Springs
- 6 hr drive from Calgary

- Accessible from May-October by vehicle

Ainsworth Hot Springs

- Accessible year around
- Developed pools and a unique cave
- 8.5 hr drive from Calgary
- Located south of Kaslo, BC

Hot Springs Cove

- Natural pools located north of Tofino, BC and accessible by float plane or boat
- Can be a day trip or add in an extra element and plan to camp there for a night at the nearby campsite that is located right along the beach!
Manitou Springs
- Located in Saskatchewan
- 7.25 hr drive east of Calgary
- Developed pools with water known for its natural buoyancy and curative powers!
